PuppetGreetings began in 1999 with a simple idea: use the personality, humor and magic of puppets to help people connect with one another online.
Long before sending video from a phone became an everyday part of life, PuppetGreetings was creating original video greetings designed to make people laugh, celebrate a birthday, say congratulations, send some love—or simply make someone smile.
Founded by Jeff Shrewsbury and Kevin Carlson, PuppetGreetings brought together two complementary worlds: entrepreneurship, technology and digital distribution on one side, and professional puppetry, character creation and entertainment production on the other.
Together, Jeff and Kevin developed PuppetGreetings into an original library of characters and performances created by professional puppeteers, performers, builders, writers, directors and production artists.
Ahead of Its Time
PuppetGreetings grew during an extraordinary period in the evolution of the Internet.
Beginning in 1999, the company explored new ways to distribute short-form video entertainment online and, as mobile technology developed, expanded into mobile entertainment and carrier distribution.
The technology has changed dramatically since those early days.
The reason for PuppetGreetings hasn't.
There is something wonderfully human about a puppet looking into the camera and saying something on your behalf that a text message, emoji or generic digital card simply can't.
The Puppets Are Back
In 2026, PuppetGreetings returned for a new generation.
We're restoring and bringing online our library of original PuppetGreetings while building a modern, mobile-friendly way to discover a character, watch a greeting and send it to someone you care about.
Some of these characters haven't been seen publicly in years. Others are just waiting for their next opportunity to make somebody laugh.
And this is only the beginning.
